Banstead Cubs Go Wild at Chessington
Banstead District were honoured to be the first ever group to participate in Chessingtons Wild Adventure. The idea developed by our very own Tadworth Cub Leader Von Searle and Merlin Manager, Paul Tidy had been brought to fruition after many months of planning. The Cub and Scout leaders arrived on Friday night to set up the tents and marquee needed to pro- tect the boys and girls in the event of bad weather...

Girlguiding Ashford
When we first looked into the possibility of camping out at Chessington back in Nov 2010 we realised we were one of the first groups that had shown interest, so it was all very new to us and the Chessington team.
Over the months, much of the options available to us kept changing, but only for the better. We decided on the full package which meant we didn't need to provide any catering ourselves & literally arrived at the campsite with our tents and sleeping bags, with 205 excited girls & leaders.
The Chessington team were brilliant, and all of our leaders commented on how good they were and this definitely made the difference between a good weekend and a fantastic weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for them and on the odd occasion when something didn't go to plan, they were quick to re-evaluate the situation & put an alternative plan into place.
We are pleased that we were the first Girlguiding group (and the biggest group) to stay at Chessington in 2011, and wholeheartedly recommend it to other groups as its great value for money & an easy to organise sleepover option. Our girls are already asking when we can come back and stay again!
